What began as a hot dog stand in 1977, grew to become an icon. A staple of the downtown Highland Park community, Michael's has always strived to be good food fast, not just fast food. Michael's is a place of family gathering, celebration, and that last stop after practice for your table at home. We have been through a lot together over the years, and we proudly continue to serve our wonderful North Shore community for generations to come.

When a group of Highland Park natives bought their favorite local destination from the Hoffman family in 2012, we knew we had our work cut out for us, but we knew you all loved it just as much as us. The landscape of modern quick service has continued to change with the addition of technology, and lifestyles change with it! Our efforts have improved our abilities to take care of all of you that are dining with us, whether it be in house or on the go. A lot more of you buy our favorite salad bar these days, and we want to continue to grow and evolve with your needs. We appreciate all your feedback, your continued support, and most of all, the ability to serve you a delicious meal.

From the first hot dog and milk shakes to our newest menu items, we have had the pleasure of many family gatherings at Michael's. Some of our guys have been here serving for over 30 years! We've served many generations and we look forward to serving the next generation of Michael's guests. It is our mission to serve you good food fast, and provide service so all our past Michael's customers feel welcome, and our new customers see what they've been missing all these years.
